- There is no sign-up. We don't know who you are.
- Your ledger is read in the server's memory only to build your report. It is never written to disk and is deleted within 30 minutes.
- No AI service sees your file, and it is never used to train anything.
- No cookies and no tracking scripts. Our server records anonymous usage events, such as "a ledger was read, 9 entries worth a look", to learn what to improve.
- If you leave feedback, your comment and (only if you give it) your email are kept so we can read them and reply.
- Your review marks and notes stay in your browser tab. They reach our server only inside the Excel file you ask for, and are not kept.
Who we are
Ledger is a free tool made by Chronorisks, the makers of Sorites. Questions or requests: support@chronorisks.com.
Your files
The general ledger you upload is read, checked and turned into the report you see and the Excel file you download. That is all it is used for. It is kept in the server's memory, never on disk, and deleted 30 minutes after upload at the latest (often sooner, when the server needs the room). Our logs never contain anything from your file.
Ledgers usually name customers, suppliers and sometimes people. You decide what to upload, and you should only upload data you are allowed to use. We process it only on your behalf, to produce your report.
What else we process
- Your network address (IP). Held in memory for at most 24 hours, only to limit how often one visitor can use the tool, so it stays free for everyone. It is not written down or logged.
- Anonymous usage events. Our server records the steps of a visit (page opened, file read, report finished, report downloaded) with facts about them: the page language, the referring website's name and campaign tags (for example "linkedin.com"), the country (looked up from your network address on our server; the address itself is not passed on), the type of device, browser and operating system, the file format, the size range and header language of the ledger, which columns were found, which checks found something and how many entries were flagged, and which report tabs you opened. Nothing from inside your files is included: no names, descriptions, amounts or dates. The steps of one visit are linked by a random code that lives only in your open browser tab and is gone when you close it.
- Where the events go. We use PostHog (PostHog Inc.) to store and chart these events, in its European Union region (Frankfurt). PostHog does not receive your network address and sets nothing in your browser.
- Feedback. If you answer "Was this useful?", we keep your answer, your comment and, only if you type it, your email address, on our server. We use the email only to tell you about Ledger (new features or paid plans) and to reply to your comment. Every message lets you stop them, and you can ask us to delete your feedback at any time.
Your browser
The page stores a few small things in your browser: your language choice, a "been here before" flag, the random code for the current tab (removed when the tab closes), and a short history: the day of your first visit, how many ledgers you have read, and the day of the last one. The history stays in your browser; usage events only carry rough ranges from it (for example "2 to 5 ledgers before, the last one within a month"), never the dates or a code that follows you from one visit to the next. None of this identifies you, and clearing your browser's site data removes it. There are no cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Fonts are served from our own server.
Where
The service runs on a server in the United Kingdom, operated for Chronorisks by our hosting provider, IONOS. Usage events are stored by PostHog in the European Union.

Your rights
Apart from feedback you choose to send, we hold no personal data about you beyond the short-lived items above, and nothing we could look up by your name. If you have a question or a request, email support@chronorisks.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this page, we update the date above. If we ever add accounts or paid plans, we will say so on the home page first.
